Lake Baikal and Sayan Mountains

Itinerary: Irkutsk – Listvianka – Circumbaikal Railroad – Tunka valley – Arshan village – Irkutsk

Arrival in Irkutsk. Meet with local guide and transfer to Listvianka village. Arrival in Listvianka. Stop at the observation platform to see the famous Shaman Rock. Lunch at local restaurant at the shore of the lake, tasting dishes of famous lake Baikal fish «omul». Then excursion at the Baikal museum to see the flora and the fauna of lake Baikal. Visit by cable car to Mountain Chersky where a beautiful view opens at the south part of lake Baikal and the source of the Angara river. Walking tour at the village Krestovka with visit to the Saint Nicolas church. Accommodation at hotel Mayak or at the homestay. Russian banya (supplement service).

 

Breakfast. Transfer with guide to the pier and departure by ferry to the village Port Baikal to start a fascinating trip by tourist rail bus on Circumbaikal rail road. Arrival at Port Baikal village. boarding in the first class carriage and departure. During excursion you`ll have some stops to visit galleries, tunnels, to walk in the forest and at lake Baikal shore. The train always goes on Baikal shore and you`ll have a possibility to admire beautiful landscapes of the lake. In the evening (19.00 - 20.00) arrival at the railway station of Sludianka. Transfer at the village Arshan, buriat village located 138 km from Sludianka and at the Mountain

Sayan foot. Arrival, accommodation at private hotel Mariana Rosha.

 

Breakfast. Visit to the Buddhist Datsan «Bodhidharma» loacated 1 km from the village, assistance Presence at religious daily ceremony. Visit to the village Arshan famous by its thermal medical, tasting of water. Lunch at hotel café.Trekking to the water fall of Kingarga River. There are 12  water falls but you`ll visit the first, the biggest and the most beautiful water fall. Return to the hotel. Rest.

 

Breakfast. Departure to the balneal station Gemchug where you`ll bath in thermal hot sources famous by its medical minerals. Lunch at village cafe and departure for Irkutsk, 210 km. Arrival in Irkutsk. Accommodation at hotel Europe or at homestay.

 

Breakfast. Transfer to the train station or airport.

Departure from Irkutsk.
