Itinerary
- Day 1: IRKUTSK – KULTUK – SLUDYANKA
Arrival in Irkutsk. Meet a local guide and short city tour of Irkutsk. Departure to Kultuk village - the south point of lake Baikal. Stop at the view point where the beautiful view opens at the Kultuk gulf and Khamar-Daban mountain range. Arrival in Sludyanka – small town situated on the lake Baikal shore, 110 km from Irkutsk. Accommodation in a private Guest house or a hotel. In Sludyanka you can visit Zhigalov`s Mineral Museum with a collection of 1000 items from all over the world. - Day 2: SLUDYANKA – WEATHER STATION
Breakfast. Trekking on a path ascending along Sludyanka rivulet to the mountain range. The path passes over the marble carrière and rises up. You can explore pure water of mountain rivers, rocks and rich flora. Lunch. Arrival in wooden house of weather station, accommodation in a house or in a tent. Dinner and overnight. - Day 3: CHERSKY peak
Breakfast. Trekking up to the meadows where picturesque view opens at the Khamar Daban mountain range. The path becomes more narrow. Lunch on the way. Climbing to the Chersky Peak (2090 meters high). If the weather is good you`ll see Baikal lake and small lake located at the mountain, the lake's name is Heart lake because of its form. Return to the weather station. Dinner at the camp. - Day 4: TCHERTOVY VOROTA (Gates of devil) canyon and PODKAMARNAYA river
Breakfast. Trekking to Tchertovy Vorota canyon. Lunch on the way. Trekking to Podkamarnaya river where you`ll see beautifull waterfalls. Dinner. - Day 5: SLUDYANKA – IRKUTSK
Breakfast, rest. Return to Sludyanka. Lunch on the way. Arrival in Sludyanka. Transfer to Irkutsk. Accommodation in a hotel or homestay. - Day 6: LISTVYANKA
Breakfast. Full day excursion to the Listvyanka village, 70 km from Irkutsk. On the way visit Taltsy open-air museum of wooden architecture. Arrival in Listvyanka, Baikal museum. Lunch in a local restaurant. Visit to Chersky mountain (same name) to see Angara river source, southern part of lake Baikal and Khamar Daban mountain range that we leave a day ago. Walking tour in Krestovka village to see Saint Nicolas church. Return to Irkutsk. - Day 7: DEPARTURE
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport or at the train station. Departure from Irkutsk
